Thomas and Mairi planned the fruit and veg for a busy day.

Their first list had more than they expected to need.

They changed the amounts, using what they knew about their customers.

Buddy kept the food-saving plan separate from the scraps collection.

They finished with a sensible order, and only a small remainder for the caddy.

Thomas cheered: good produce, eaten by people.
Thomas: “Use the good produce well, and give the packaging the right next stop.”
Draft, 19 October 2026. The words and pictures are not yet reviewed by an educator. The story follows the outline in our story guide.
The real-life bit
Planning how much food you need stops good food going to waste. Scraps nobody can eat go in the food caddy, if your council collects food waste. Gullbrae is made up. Your council’s own rules are the ones to follow.
