Iain compared two plans: one for a quiet week, and one for a busy week.
Iain: “We plan for the busy weeks, not only the quiet morning.”

The picture on his board showed what summer brings: lots more visitors.

Ailsa told him when the busy days were coming.

Iain, Morag and Ailsa planned the storage and the crossings before the busy week began.

They put up a clear notice, so everyone knew the plan.

When the visitors came, the island was ready.
Draft, 19 October 2026. The words and pictures are not yet reviewed by an educator. The story follows the outline in our story guide.
The real-life bit
Busy places plan ahead for the extra rubbish and recycling. At home, if you have more than usual, after a party say, check what your council collects before you put extra bags out. Gullbrae is made up. Your council’s own rules are the ones to follow.
