Tommy and May welcomed Eddie back to the village store. He’d been coming in since he was a boy.

Tommy brought out an old blue tin that Eddie remembered.

May showed how they use it now: clean, and filled with notes and pencils.

Together they checked the area’s current recycling guidance, because the rules change.

Eddie used the tin to keep his notes and pencils together.

Tommy smiled at his old friend.
Tommy: “We’ve seen plenty change. It’s always worth checking what works now.”
Draft, 18 October 2026. The words and pictures are not yet reviewed by an educator. The story follows the outline in our story guide.
The real-life bit
Recycling rules change over time, and they’re different from council to council. Check your council’s current rules, even if you think you know them. Gullbrae is made up. Your council’s own rules are the ones to follow.
