May brought a wobbly chair to Stan.

Buddy thought the chair’s story was over.

Stan checked what could be mended safely.
Stan: “Let’s see what’s still useful.”

After Stan’s check, May chose to have it mended.

The familiar chair came back to the store.

Buddy had a new idea: before something goes, ask a grown-up whether it can be mended.
Draft, 19 October 2026. The words and pictures are not yet reviewed by an educator. The story follows the outline in our story guide.
The real-life bit
A lot of furniture can be mended and used for years more. Ask a grown-up, or a repair café, before something goes to the tip. Repairs are a grown-up job. Gullbrae is made up. Your council’s own rules are the ones to follow.
