The story

Ailsa welcomes Rowan and Buddy at the island pier, near a drinking-water point.

Rowan arrived at Brackenport with an empty bottle he’d brought from home.

Rowan holds his empty bottle, unsure where to go.

He didn’t know where he could refill it.

Ailsa points to a sign for the drinking-water refill point.

Ailsa showed him the drinking-water refill point.

For grown-ups: Ailsa shows the designated drinking-water refill point. Check the actual point and local instructions before use.

Ailsa, Rowan and Buddy look at a blank information board.

Buddy helped him read the island’s instructions.

Rowan packs his filled bottle at the shop counter.

Rowan started his day with a full bottle and a clear plan.

Ailsa waves towards the refill point as Rowan and Buddy leave.

Before he left, Ailsa reminded him to refill again.

Ailsa: “Bottle ready? There’s drinking water to refill before you head off.”
