Eddie arrived at the marine hospital with Arthur, asking for Wee Wullie.

With a name like Wee Wullie, Eddie expected someone very small.

Then Wee Wullie stepped into the doorway, a whole head taller than Eddie.
Wee Wullie: “Wee is the nickname. Giving wildlife plenty of space is the important bit.”

Wullie showed Eddie an empty carrier, one of the things the care team uses.

Eddie laughed at his own mistake, and Arthur enjoyed every minute.

Eddie introduced his new friend by what he does: part of the marine hospital’s care team.
Draft, 20 October 2026. The words and pictures are not yet reviewed by an educator. The story follows the outline in our story guide.
The real-life bit
If you see a seal or another sea animal on the beach, give it plenty of space, keep dogs on a lead and tell a grown-up. Never pick up or move a wild animal. A grown-up can ask a wildlife rescue charity for advice. Gullbrae is made up. Your council’s own rules are the ones to follow.
