Bracken Isle

Island collection area

Iain keeps each material separate and safe for the trip back to the mainland.

DraftA made-up place

The island collection area: a fenced yard with a green-doored shed and covered bays for different materials, by the harbour.

What happens here

The island’s recycling waits here, each material in its own bay, until Eddie’s weekly island run.

Then it goes back on the ferry to the mainland, kept separate and secure for the trip. Places that need a longer journey often gather loads first, like a transfer station does.

This part is how it works in real life. Source: Veolia, transfer stations in Birmingham.
